To be prepared for a crisis or sudden disruption:

Document and regularly test your crisis management protocols and define governance, communication and decision-making responsibilities in times of crisis and disruption.
Map who and where your people and their immediate families are.
Without creating unnecessary alarm, proactively communicate expectations and readiness guidance. .with employees in high-risk regions.

During crisis and disruptive events:

Ensure employees are prepared for travel or evacuation, have clear instructions, and know where to go.
Understand viable relocation destinations where they can travel or be evacuated to, and have tracking systems in place to monitor their movement or identify challenges.
Maintain clear, consistent, and measured communications with employees, leadership, and stakeholders as things change.
Plan for immigration, tax, social security, and payroll continuity from the outset employees in high-risk regions.
